Meet Your Tutor
Who Am I and What Do I Do?
I’m Toni Barceló, the founder of ABR Languages — and for over 20 years, I’ve been helping people unlock their full potential both as a teacher and a private tutor.
I was born in Mallorca, Spain, in 1984 and I am a native Spanish and Catalan speaker. When I was only 9, I got obsessed with the entry 'alphabet' I found in an old encyclopedia that my parents kept covered in dust on a shelf at home. It included a table with a dozen of the alphabets used by ancient civilisations which I learnt by heart to be able to write in code to my classmates in school.
My precocius love for cultures and languages has taken me on an incredible journey, both personally and professionally, and I am passionate about sharing this exciting experience with others. In my career, I have had the privilege to teach learners from all walks of life — from students preparing their GCSEs, A-Levels or university exams to professionals using Spanish in their jobs or people who are interested in Spanish and Catalan cultures and languages.
For me, teaching isn’t just about grammar rules and vocabulary lists. It’s about confidence, connection, and growth. In every lesson, I aim to make language learning engaging, practical, and, most importantly, tailored to you. Whether we’re preparing for an exam, polishing your conversational skills, or exploring the nuances of Catalan literature, I adapt my approach so you can achieve your goals successfully.
Are you ready?
